School History

History, registration and development milestones of ULA Secondary School.

ULA Secondary School was established and registered in 2005 during the expansion of public secondary education in Tanzania. The school is located in Miningani, Kondoa Mjini Ward, Kondoa Town Council, Dodoma Region, and is registered under number S.1465.

In its early years, the school developed its teaching programme and administrative systems while serving learners from Kondoa Town and surrounding communities. By 2008, ULA Secondary School was already operating as a Certificate of Secondary Education Examination centre under number S1746.

The school continued to grow. In 2012, 175 candidates—86 boys and 89 girls—sat for CSEE. In 2013, 167 candidates—78 boys and 89 girls—sat for the examination. These cohorts demonstrate the school's established role in public secondary education in Kondoa.

In 2014, the school participated in a TV White Space internet connectivity trial. The initiative was followed by access to laptops and a server, strengthening the school's foundation for ICT-supported learning and Computer Science development.

From 2021 to 2025, the school recorded broad improvement in FTNA and CSEE performance. Its current direction is to sustain high pass rates, increase the proportion of Division I–III results, reduce Division 0, strengthen learner attendance in national examinations, and expand effective use of ICT in teaching and administration.
